THE CORRS - HEADLINE CITY IN THE PARK 1999.

It was somewhat of a challenge to compete with the success of the Saw Doctor’s at last year’s City In The Park. However, Daybrook House Promotions are proud to present The Corrs live at Wollaton Park, Nottingham on Sunday 30th May 1999.

With their unique blend of contemporary and traditional Irish musics, The Corrs have established themselves as true originals. On their long-awaited new ‘TALK ON CORNERS’ Album, the Dundalk, Ireland group, Jim (keyboards/guitar/vocal), Andrea (lead vocals/ tin whistle), Caroline (drums/ bodhran/ vocals) and Sharon (violin/ vocals) create a sound steeped in the tradition of their homeland, but invested with a vibrant and electric modern pop flavour.‘TALK ON CORNERS’ has just been awarded its fifth UK platinum disc as it has surpassed 1.5m sales. This makes this the biggest seller in Britain this year, beating off competition from the likes of Robbie Williams, George Michael and U2.

The Corrs have also recently embarked on one of the biggest tours seen in the UK this year, with the initial set of 27 dates completely Sold Out.

City in The Park will however be the Corrs first headline outdoor event, following in the footsteps of Pulp at Finsbury Park and Oasis at Knebworth.

This concert will also further extend the variety of musical entertainment provided by Daybrook House Promotions. Which is perhaps better known for its 19 years of success with Rock City in Nottingham, establishing itself as a regular fixture to the East Midlands programme as well as offering a rival to the regular summer fixtures such as ‘Reading’, ‘Phoenix’ and ‘Fleadh’ festivals.
